Privacy policy

This policy applies to the Second Voice Android app (org.jsoligny.secondvoice) and this website. For GDPR rights, see also the GDPR page.

1. Who we are

Second Voice is a text-to-speech and quick-phrase app designed to help with communication. It is published by J. Soligny and does not require a user account.

2. Data we process

On your device only

• Text you ask to have read aloud.
• Tiles (name, text, source type) stored locally.
• Audio files if you record your voice.
• Interface language.

Android speech synthesis uses the voices on the phone. The publisher does not send your phrases to a server it operates.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

If ads are shown, Google may process in particular:

• the device advertising ID;
• IP address, device type and technical signals;
• information related to your consent choices.

3. Android permissions

• Microphone: only to record a voice tile, after you choose to do so.
• Internet and network state: loading ads and the consent form.
• Advertising ID: used by the ads SDK, according to your system settings and consent.

4. Sharing

The publisher does not sell your data. Voice content and tiles are not uploaded to a Second Voice server. Google may receive advertising data as described above.

5. Retention

Local data remains until you delete it or uninstall the app. Uninstalling Second Voice typically clears the app’s private storage, including recordings.

6. Your choices

• Deny the microphone permission: the app still works with text-to-speech, without personal recordings.
• Manage advertising consent: Settings → Manage ad consent.
• Limit ad tracking in Android settings.

7. Security

Recordings are stored in the app’s private space. No measure is perfect: protect access to your phone (screen lock).

8. Children

The app is not designed for children under 16 and is not directed at them.

9. Changes

This policy may change, in particular if ads, permissions or third-party services change. The date at the top of the page is updated accordingly.
